Hi everybody. It's blog time. From this point until the end of the semester, please post twice a week. You can tell us about your training progress, new trails you've discovered, summarize articles you've read, thoughts and feelings about your upcoming marathon, asking for a running partner for your next long run, new gear or food stuff you've purchased, etc. This blog will also serve as your log for each week until December 14, 2009. On December 14, tell me your time for White Rock and how you are feeling now that it is over.

Well, my progress is rather slow. Thank you IT Band. I haven't been able to run in several weeks, which is frustrating on many levels since running goes way beyond physical exercise for me. It is also the time I think, pray and de-stress, so I have had to figure other things out to take care of that. I have a developed a love-hate relationship for the elliptical machine; I love it because I still get the feeling of a workout, and I hate it because, well, I just don't enjoy stationary ellipticaling. It's boring. But I do it, so my log for the week so far is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on the elliptical for 30 minutes each and strength training on Tuesday for 20 minutes. Happy runnings everyone!
ReplyDeleteEmily dear, you are quite a trooper and I really look up to you for the way you are handling this whole injury thing. Even though I know it's not your choice at all, you make the best with what you're given... Keep it up. :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, Monday and Wednesday I ran 35 minutes around the picturesque Lundsford trail, and it was drop-dead gorgeous outside. This weekend I'm going out of town, so I'm planning on running the 19 miles NEXT weekend. Yesterday (Thursday) I ran about 8 miles for my longer run.
Much joy to you guys,
Abbey :-)
This Thanksgiving break I have definitely been eating unhealthy, but I have been walking for an hour everyday. My ankle is still bothering me, but I have been doing low impact cardio workouts in order to keep in shape. I really miss running, but every time I try to run it bothers my ankle and I know i'm making it worse.
ReplyDeleteToday I am going to go for a walk in our neighborhood and if my ankle is feeling okay, I'll try to jog for a bit. I got new tennis shoes yesterday because my old ones where wearing down, so I am excited to use my new ones!
Have a great holiday friends and see you bright and early on Monday!
