Hey everyone! I haven't been blogging much lately because, unfortunately, there hasn't been too much exercise happening. Ever since doing 20 miles with Sam a few weeks ago, my IT band has been getting very inflamed even on short runs. So for the past week I've just been resting and icing.
After the conditioning workout this past Monday, my knee was feeling pretty good, so I decided to try to run around the track a couple of times. After only one time around, I could feel it beginning to hurt. It is definitely disheartening to not be able to run even a quarter mile pain-free.
Last night I went for a run with a friend of mine named Kendrick. We ran/walked around the Lunsford trail once. After those two miles, I could feel a little twinge in the knee, but luckily there has not been any prolonged pain, which is some improvement, I suppose.
As of right now, my plan is to still run the marathon, but I have dropped any time goals and will probably take very frequent walk breaks. Please be praying my knee gets better!
